Hazardous Weather

Hello Westford Rowing,

I’m not big on hyperbole, but the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for all of Massachusetts east of the Berkshires.

What is headed our way?

Thunderstorms - Don’t row.

Strong Winds - Don’t row.

Downpours - While we can row in the rain, don’t row in downpours of 1-2 inches of rain per hour.

Once we get through that, things heat up. A heat advisory is expected with temperatures in the mid to high 90’s.

I don’t subscribe to those made up numbers but with a heat index of 108, holy cow- don’t row.

When the temperature is above 75 use caution.
When the temperature is above 90 use extreme caution and consider rowing another time.
When the temperature exceeds 100 do not row.

Stay home and stay safe,

Jon
