Junior Competitive Program

An opportunity for high school student athletes to participate in a sport that fosters team work, determination, perseverance, sportsmanship, and leadership. The program focuses on proper technique, fitness, boat and oar handling, rowing terminology and safety both on and off the water. Athletes compete in racing shells throughout the region against local and nationwide teams. Opportunities to travel to nation-wide and international competitions are available.

8th Grade Rowing

Participants will learn the fundamental skills required to row safely and at a competitive level. Rowers will learn the fundamentals of both sculling (two oars per person) and sweep rowing (one oar per person). Comfortable, tight-fitting clothing as well as layering in colder weather is suggested. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
