Join Us Saturday June 2nd, 2018 for National Learn

to Row Day.

Saturday from 9 AM to noon

How much does it cost?  It's free!

Who can participate?  Everyone 12 to 99+ can try it out.

What will we be doing?  You will learn the basics of the rowing stroke on an ergometer (a.k.a. - erg or rowing machine).  You will then have the opportunity to try rowing in a shell (boat).

What should I wear?  Ideally, please wear form-fitting athletic clothing (in order not to get caught on the sliding seats and be able to move freely).  If you don't have or don't want to wear such clothing, come anyway!  The important thing is to not have extremely loose clothing (especially your pants'/shorts' legs).

What happens if there is bad weather on June 2nd?  We plan to hold the event rain or shine.  Check back here for updates;  any announcement of changes will be made by 8 AM on the day of the event.

How do I get to Forge Beach?  You can use Google Maps:  click here and it will show you our location.  If you are familiar with the area, it is near the intersection of West Prescott and Pleasant Streets across from Abbot Mill Lane.  The access road is immediately between the railroad tracks and Stony Brook (the dam).
