2017 Lucky Duck Regatta Rules
All ducks entered will be provided by and shall remain the property of WFOR.
The Lucky Duck Regatta shall be open to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age (entrant). Prize winners must be individuals at least 18 years or older, or a parent or guardian must accept the prize. Winners must show proper identification when claiming prizes. Any prize other than the Grand Prize may be transferred to a person or persons of the prize winner's choice. The Grand Prize may not be sold, transferred or assigned. Any tax liability that might be incurred as a result of winning any prize is the responsibility of the prize winner.
Once ducks are launched, they are on their own, except that the race committee reserve the right to free them if caught in branches or other impediments, ducks may be returned to course.
Winners will be determined by serial number on adoption paper corresponding to code number of each duck in order of finish.
Decisions of the judges stationed at the finish line will be final. Judges are not eligible to win.
It is not necessary for "adopters" of winning ducks to be present to claim prize(s).
The Grand Prize and runner-up winners will be announced at the end of the final race. They will also be notified by telephone, electronic mail and/or US Mail. Winners will be instructed on method of claiming prizes, but such claim is the sole responsibility of the winner.
The Grand Prize, referred to a "Dinner for Two Any-where in the World," is subject to the following restrictions:
Grand Prize winner must make destination selection no later than January 15, 2018, following the race, and prior to travel. Destination selection must be considered an international gateway by the International Airlines Traffic Association.
All travel must be completed within one calendar year of the race date.
The Grand Prize includes coach class airfare for two. Neither land arrangements nor airline tickets are transferable or refundable.
Winner must abide by airline rules regarding minimum stay and any other conditions which may be imposed on dates of travel.
WFOR will provide two nights hotel double occupancy stay, with any balance of hotel costs at the expense of the passengers.
Winners will also be reimbursed for the cost of two complete dinners, excepting alcoholic beverages, at a restaurant of the winner's choosing at the selected destination.
All travel arrangements required for the Grand Prize must be made by a travel agent chosen by WFOR.
Any variations from the rules above will be the responsibility of and at the expense of the passengers/prize winner. Any trip extensions or flight upgrades will be the responsibility of and at the expense of the passengers/prize winner, but should be coordinated with the travel agent.
Total grand prize is not to exceed $5,000.00
There will be a cash equivalent prize in lieu of the grand prize of $3000.00.
The race is being supervised by WFOR and AFSP Team Forever Young, its members and appointed volunteers. The race is for the benefit of various charities supported by the WFOR and AFSP Team Forever Young
Failure to follow these rules may result in the decision by WFOR and AFSP Team Forever Young to disqualify a prize winner.
Each winner has sole responsibility for paying any and all taxes and similar fees on any prize(s) won and must authorize the deduction of such taxes, if any, from the prize(s) to the extent required by law.
By entering, entrants release the WFOR and AFSP Team Forever Young and its members, directors, agents, employees, and other related entities from any and all liability with respect to prizes.
By entering, winners consent to promotional use of their names and likeness without additional compensation.
Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries.
